“When two cultures combine.”
Aside from being incredibly cute together, Kiyomi & Matt have a super adorable (& very modern) love story. They actually met through an app! Kiyomi was out of the country when Matt made his first move, so she never saw it! Luckily, he was persistent. When she got back and saw the messages, they hit it off! The rest is history. After their engagement session, we started counting down the days until their wedding day which was to be held in South Carolina. It did not disappoint-see for yourself!
This wedding was one for the books. Full of culture & history, love & laughter, and such a unique way of mixing friends & family. Kiyomi & Matt live in Atlanta but chose to host their wedding weekend in South Carolina. The chose Larkins on the River on Main Street, in the heart of Greenville and it was a perfect choice! Larkins on the River offers such a unique style- a historic, earthy, and open venue plopped right in the city. The ceremony was held on September 7 in the cutest alley with simple decor and an urban feel.. Kiyomi & Matt decided to host only immediate family for their traditional ceremony which made the ceremony even more special. On September 8, ALL friends & family were invited to The Wyche Pavilion to celebrate together!
Our favorite part of the whole weekend was learning about Kiyomi + her families traditions & culture. Kiyomi chose to wear her family’s kimono during her ceremony. It’s over 100 years old, hand-made with the finest detailing, embroidered with her family crest, and simply holds so much value to her family. We loved learning about this tradition and seriously, how STUNNING does Kiyomi look in it?!
